So ABC has this new TV show coming out later this fall ... Anyone else going to try and watch it?

Since you did such a good job selling it, absolutely not.

I do not try to sell anything :)

They should have just made a Fables show.

I might watch it, it could be good for some lulz.

Before even watching the video, this sentence made me remember the pitch for this show. I remember thinking the exact same thing.

Show looks like it's trying too hard to be good. It's got the hot chicks from House and Big Love though, so I'm down for a few episodes.

I'm down for this.

It has the scientist guy from SG:U, too. Something tells me that no one on this forum watched that show, though...

I'm pretty sure more people than you think have.

SGU wasn't terrible at the end.

What a ringing endorsement.

I think SGU was cut short and could have gone one more season ...

Normally bots are pretty terrible but this one is pimping free veronica mars episodes.

Even though I reported him, I totally agree. Everybody should watch Veronica Mars at any cost.

And thus he's gone, never to be seen or heard from again. Farewell, coolest bot we'd ever met. Farewell.

Spoiler: show

Our bot is an awesome bot.

I wonder if there will wind up being more discussion about the bot and Veronica Mars than Once Upon A Time.

DO NOT FEED THE BOTS.

I heard this is better than Grimm. y/n?

They are both equally great but for totally different reasons. Incomparable.

Jane Espenson is amazing! Last night was actually a really good episode. Also, this show obviously takes place in the Lost universe; there was a hatch and an Apollo bar. My bet is Storybrook becomes Dharmaville.

The week to week plot lines of this show bore the shit out of me. Why do we need to see origin stories for fairy tale characters? I don't need to know how Jiminy became a fucking cricket. He's a fucking cricket, who gives a shit? This show's priorities suck shit. Even if it couldn't have been 1 to 1 reproduced as a TV shows, some adaptations of Fables would have been a lot better than this because Fables didn't have all this fucking pandering. It just threw all the characters into fucked up situations and made them deal with it. We don't need a fucking fairyland history lesson every week.

I would say yes but Grimm isn't bad. They are completely different types of shows though.

To be honest I think I like Grimm more now, but that's just because it's not as pretentious.

Grimm is a little too formulaic but a lot of shows start out that way.

We had a bunch of episodes of Grimm piled up on the DVR, but deleted them because we didn't think we'd get around to them in anything resembling a decent timeframe. Maybe I'll watch the pilot on Hulu or procure it in another manner.

Once Upon a Time still suffers from atrocious acting, and an inexplicable merger of somewhat decent special effects with those a sixth-grader armed with a Mac computer could have out-CGIed.
I sort of dug the look of the cricket, but that fairy had me reaching for my fly-swatter.

I would argue that OUT benefits from atrocious acting.

In a recently conducted interview, Bill Willingham addresses the, "Is Once Upon a Time a Fables ripoff?" question.

Bill Willingham interviewing Bill Willingham....

I guess it's nice that he got a fat stack of cash so he wouldn't be involved in any potential TV adaptation of Fables, so his stake in it is over. I still would have preferred a good Fables adaptation to what we've gotten so far out of OUT.
