Terra Nova, or: Land of the LOST (get it?)

Postby LiQuid » Aug 31st, 2011 @ 9:32pm

This show is starting soon. Is anybody gonna watch it? I don't know THAT much about it, but on the surface it looks like it's going to be a shitty survival drama like Lost or Falling Skies, only in this show the smoke monster is actually going to be dinosaurs like we were all hoping way back when Lost first started.

Basically the world or sun or something is dying, so colonists do the logical thing and build a time machine back to dino times so the human race can live on... in the past... or something. It sounds like total nonsense.

This show looks like it could be so horrible, it will loop all the way around back to awesome.

I don't give its survival much of a chance. It is on FOX, after all.

It's on Fox, and if there's any hope that it's good there has to be heck of dinosaurs, which means dollar signs, which means

One can hope though.

It has fucking dinosaurs. Is that really something you need to be told over just inferring it?

They had an advanced screening of the show at Fan Expo on Friday. I didn't go see it though because I had better things to do.

Your mission now, if you choose to accept it, is to get at the very least Ryan Scott and hopefully the rest of the podcast crew on board. If you use that exact pitch and get even so much as an unsure or apprehensive response, just issue a backhand and tell them I think they suck.

If they can't watch good shit like Game of Thrones (seriously, how the fuck am I the only one that's seen it), there's no chance anyone will watch this.

Unless April gets into it...

Demon Knights was D&D with dinosaurs and that was rad as heck. You should read that too.

I'm sure you think it is. My point was that you said you shouldn't care what anyone else's opinion on something is, yet you bothered to mention how the poll backed your picks for week 2 of the DC new 52.

It's good when my opinion is vindicated by the masses, but I hardly allow them to dictate what I consume or enjoy. Also, in this case, the fact that Terra Nova's gonna rock has kinda already been vindicated by the masses anyways, so it's a win/win and you should watch it. :D

I watched about 20 minutes of Terra Nova. Apparently it's getting glowing reviews and everyone is on board. This show is a disaster of biblical proportions. Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria, etc.
