Keep it that way. You're better off for it. It's actually a somewhat entertaining film if it wasn't for the fact that everything about it is bullshit.

I wouldn't watch it even if it was historically accurate. It has Tom Cruise in it. :?

You know, prejudice like that is unbecoming of you. I came *this* close to not watching The Town, because I hate Ben Affleck more than you probably hate Tom Cruise. But that turned out to be a halfway decent film.

Samurai Jack has some very interesting (and at times even pretty) artwork and a cool scifi premise, but you're nuts if you believe that something like this is remotely authentic.

I'm sorry, but you do know who I am, right???

Seriously, Tom Cruise is so much of a nutbag, it retroactively makes me hate his older films. The only one I don't completely hate is Jerry McGuire, and that's only because of Cuba Gooding, Jr.

That sucks. I mean, everyone hates on Mel Gibson but I'm not gonna let that stop me from enjoying the great movies he's had a part in. Polanski fucked a 13 year old up the ass but I'm still gonna enjoy Rosemary's Baby.

Did he really? I mean, I know about him having sex with a minor, but I didn't know if they got that specific...

Yeah, Mel Gibson is a complete Anti-Semetic psycho, but I still like his films. I am completely capable of separating an artist with their art. With Tom Cruise, however, it's a completely different ballgame. He's just so....urgh :?

I think it's easier for me to forgive actors for their insanity because at the end of the day, they're just a worker who is hired to pretend to play someone else. Who they are as a person, if they're a good actor, shouldn't bleed through into their performances. So I can watch and love Kindergarden Cop all I want and love it, even though the Governator has personally fucked me and my family in the ass with his horrible governing.

It gets a little harder for me to forgive and forget though when it comes to creators of stuff, like authors, directors, and producers. A lot of times their world-view/politics/religion affect and influence what they make.

I refuse to buy anything Star Wars until George Lucas lets the original cuts of the first trilogy be released back to the public.

I'm pretty sure I've posted this here before, but Lucas insists that the original cuts were destroyed in the making of the special editions. Most people don't believe he is stupid enough to do that and there's someone who was familiar with Lucasfilm who said that Lucas didn't destroy the original film, but that doesn't change what Lucas said/believes. Chances are we won't see the original cuts won't be seen beyond the laserdisc versions until after George kicks it and his heirs order the vaults to be searched and a new transfer to be made. We just have to hope the film lasts that long.

No idea. Click the link and report back.

EDIT: Apparently it's the remastered versions only. I care even less, if such a thing were possible. All I know is that man is not getting any more of my money.

Ya'll are a bunch of indignant-ass nerds.

Only reason I'm not getting it is because I don't have a BRD player. I don't harbor any fondness for the prequels since they are horrific examples of storytelling, but I still appreciate the IP. I think the EU shows, novels and comics are actually even better than the original trilogy a lot of the time. I appreciate the mythos of Star Wars more than any of the actual films it is based on.

I won't be buying the bluray simply because they're gonna be expensive as hell.

What is all this about the theatrical versions? Didn't Lucas release those on DVD? I remember hearing something about them being the laserdisc version, and the quality kind of sucked, but are the laserdisc versions different from the theatrical versions?

Mine sits on the ground, far removed from my entertainment stand. In all honesty, it's better that way - it keeps it cooler being in the open like that.

$90 for 6 movies isn't that expensive.

Is there gonna be a boat load of extras with these sets? Like all the documentaries and shit that have been on the DVD box sets? Or are they saving those for the Give Lucas More Money Edition?
