Erm. . . anybody else get a Twilight vibe from the new trailer?

edit - I was browsing the CBR forums, and people are defending this, saying "No, just cause it's dark and moody doesn't mean it's Twilight!" Those people are fucking retarded. This movie wasn't made in a fucking vacuum, Twilight is hot so they're going for that vibe. Not to mention that the people saying that probably haven't seen Twilight (and it hurts my soul that I have), or they'd recognize the similarity. . . and finally, the last line in the trailer might as well have been directly from Edward fucking Cullen's mouth.

Before this movie was on my "Don't care too much, but will wait and see" list, now it's firmly on my "don't give a flying fuck" list.

When I watched the trailer the first time the first thing that went through my head was "emo."

Fuck yeah I get a Twilight vibe - that "appealing to those damaged little teens, gonna make us buckets of cash" vibe is all over the big releases lately.

They're not the only ones who got his new villain.
Apparently, the new villain was no match for SD security.

They picked a real badass.....

http://www.nytimes.com/2011/07/25/movie ... uffle.html

Rhys Ifans, who has been cast to play a villain in “The Amazing Spider-Man” film next summer, was cited with a misdemeanor battery charge on Friday night in San Diego before a panel at Comic-Con International, the country’s most important comic book convention, in which he was scheduled to appear to promote the movie, according to TheWrap.com.

At this rate, he may end up *gasp* littering sometime in the near future.

His arm is blocking whatever is covering his lizard penis. :(

Also, it's a ridiculous, photoshopped picture. What we're seeing there can look like anything in the finished product.

Social Network dude's voice is kinda low for wisecracking. Even when he was making jokes he sounded like he was emo brooding.

I've gotten over the fact that this isnt going to be a light hearted romp... They're trying to make this as polar opposite to the last films as possible to convince people its something new and different... I agree he's a bit raspy and down trodden, I'm not gonna let myself gripe about it though, just try and enjoy the ride and see how their vision comes together :)

(and hopefully get the bad taste of spiderman 3 outta my mouth)

Wasn't Spider Man 3 bad because it was emo and broody? I don't really remember anything about it.

Quick thoughts - don't like the way Lizard looks, hate his parents working for Oscorp/having something to do with his origin. Rest looks pretty good, though!

It's not like his parents' comic book origin is any better. Richard and Mary Parker, agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? Sure, whatever.
