I think perhaps what Mr. Ex is getting at is that it's the MOTHERFUCKING HULK!!!! Less dialog, more wrecking shit, to do a little bit of overgeneralizing. I'm not saying he's right (because he isn't) but Ang Lee's Hulk was not what anyone expected a Hulk movie to be

Worst movies I paid for would be Joe's Apartment and Halloween 2 (Rob Zombie). Worst movie I saw for free would be Envy.

I saw all three of these in the theater. Seeing them there make it worse

Fair enough.

Know what used to be a film I thought was terrible? The Razor's Edge. When I saw it as a young lad, it was blasphemy. Bill Murray being not funny? UGH! True story: its failure at the box office drove Bill Murray away from making films for something like, four years during the 80s. But it's actually really really good on second inspection.

Earlier I said Twilight was the worst movie I had ever seen, well, I was wrong. "Get Rich or Die Trying" is easily the worse than that film (I had completely forgotten about this steaming pile of crap until I caught it on BET at 3am) If you ever want to see a moderately talented rap star fail at acting then this is your movie. Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson delivers one of the most wooden performances I have ever seen. I would go so far as to say any actor on set of an Ed Wood movie could have played his role (essentially himself, or rather his rap persona) better than 50 cent had.

also Ang Lee's 'The Hulk' is vastly superior to the Ed Norton film...IMHO(there, it's an opinion, therefore I can't possibly be wrong)

Meh. I liked both Hulk movies. They both are huge steps forward from the 90s comic book hero movies (Punisher, Captain America).

I liked both Hulk flix too for different reasons, much the same way I liked both recent Punisher flicks. I'm fine with different takes on well known franchises and I think we're blessed that Marvel is cool with so many efforts taking place on a lot of its IPs.

I ended up seeing thst awful pre-effects copy that leaked thanks to a friend, and it put me off seeing the final polished version. It just seemed a little muddled, not really enough going on, slow and a bit... off, somehow. Nowhere near "worst movie ever" (I asked a friend, and in a heartbeat he said "Alone in the Dark. Could only watch it 10 minutes at a time."), though.

A giant green behemoth that grows stronger the angrier it gets? Yeah, that's so boring.

Hope you enjoyed your Ang Lee Hulk that looked like it was bloated with water...

There's two facets to The Hulk:
1.) HULK-SMASH!!!!
2.) The complicated and conflicted mind of Bruce Banner.
'HULK-SMASH!!!!' is boring as sin. There's nothing to it. He is destruction-porn personified. Which would be great... in a world without destruction-porn. But when I can watch shit that does destruction-porn better like 2012, why settle for something mediocre like the Hulk? When looking at him from an action standpoint, he's boring. He's almost on the same level with Superman in terms of 'he's invincible and he'll always win.'

So Ang Lee took it the other direction, delving into an exploration of Bruce Banner's troubled mind and sorted past. Is that adrenaline rushing? No. If that's all you want in The Hulk, I can't fault you or not liking it. But at the same time, you can't fault someone else for liking it because it offered something with a little more substance and meaning than HULK-SMASH!!!! or any other garden-variety superhero.

A lot of the critiques I heard against this film back in the day was centered around Eric Bana's stilted, emotionless, dead-pan acting. It was 'boring' to watch. But that's who Bruce Banner is before he becomes The Hulk: a jaded, repressed, boring, painfully ordinary person. Eric Bana played the role perfectly. Which is why I said earlier, maybe isn't not this film you hate, maybe it's the concept of The Hulk himself instead.

Also, watching The Hulk leap around and smash shit in my backyard was pretty awesome.

I'm sorry, but you just did not paint Rolland Emmerich films in a positive light. I liked 2012 when it was called "The Day After Tomorrow." And the time before that when it was called "Independence Day."

HULK SMASH!!! can be pretty cool IF done correctly. There wasn't enough action tempered with the story to keep my attention in the first film. Hulk Dogs? Puh-LEEEZ.

The second film had it right, both in characterization and action, but the final fight against the Abomination sucked.

My point is - pure unadulterated, action/destruction is in and of itself, not a good thing, as you've just proven by your rejection of 2012. As a pure action film, The Hulk fails. As a somewhat complicated drama with action peppered in here and there to raise the stakes of the drama and give the film a sense of urgency, it was awesome. I understand that it wasn't what you wanted it to be, but you can't fault other people liking it for what it was...

Of course, I have no problem with different opinions on a film. But see, here's the thing: The Hulk failed on the dramatic level as well.

And my rejection of 2012 is not because of its action. It's because of Rolland Emmerich's shameless self-plagiarism and re-packaging of the same film.

Meh, I'm not so bothered by such things. I watch every new Burn Notice, every new James Bond, play every new Metal Gear with a smile on my face. As long as the characters are interesting, or there's something new added to keep things a little fresh, I'll probably enjoy it somewhat. I mean, in Independence Day, what's his face blew up a bunch of major cities. In The Day After Tommorrow, he glassed N. America with ice. In 2012, he destroyed the whole planet. The formula is the same, but the scale is successively larger and more bombastic that it's worth it.

Also, in defense of Mr. Emmerich's films, his Godzilla is fucking awesome.

As I've said multiple times, one does not have the benefit of inflection and sarcasm to carry points across on a message board. I'm not actually nerd-raging, but you are a jackass for calling the Rolland Emmerich Godzilla a good movie.

Honestly, if you go into Godzilla expecting to see some exquisite HULK-SMASH!!!! and campy humor, not something that's going to challenge your worldview or make you think long and hard about America's nuclear weapons policies... then Godzilla is an awesome film that's very enjoyable.

I was always a fan of the rubber suit Godzilla that breathed fire, not some CGI hermaphroditic lizard. Especially the heisei films of the 2000s. The special effects in those films actually approached competence.

Obviously, the genius of the original films escapes you. How many sequels did the original Godzilla have? 28. How many did the Rolland Emmerich have? 0.

That's like saying, "Just because you like TNG, obviously the genius of TOS escapes you." Can't I like both? And to be fair:
1.) Rolland Emmerich has never directed a sequel to anything.
2.) Rolland Emmerich's Godzilla did have a sequel: 40 episodes of cartoon-awesomeness.
