Have you tried any of the allergy friendly breeds? My mom and brother is severely allergic to cats but seem to do okay with our cats (Devon Rex and Cornish Rex not the freaky hairless Sphinx).

I had dogs growing up. A couple of years ago my girlfriend (now wife) really wanted a dog. We lived in an apartment and it wouldn't have been a good environment for a dog. We ended up with a cat instead and a second cat a few years later because the first cat seemed "lonely" (according to wife).

There are pros and cons to each. The cats definitely play more favorites than my dogs ever did.

I actually have not tried interacting with allergy friendly breeds. My solution was to always take antihistamines, but that just left me drowsy.

I don't have anything against cats per se, but I also don't want to be drugged up just to pet them.

If I was allergic to cats, I would save up enough money for a hypoallergenic one. Cats are that awesome and important to me.

Pro for cats over dogs. Cats are often compared to ninjas!

The cats survived and the dog didn't. There can be only one.

Thats because your dog would rather die than eat you.

Dogs might not want to eat you per say, but they're more than ready to bite your face off.

I don't understand my cat. She bugs me this morning for food (like every morning) and while I'm getting your dish ready she just keeps yapping faster and faster. I give her the dish and she just smells it and walks away. Comes back 10 minutes later to take a few bites.

I've noticed that some cats, just don't like people to be around them when they eat. It's just the way they are sometimes. And to be honest, it's probably a better attitude that your cat has versus one of my cats. She associates eating with pleasure, insists on being petted while eating, and will, I shit you not, purr while eating as well. Needless to say, she is a fat cat, and we've put her on a diet.

That could be. I've never seen her eat a lot of her food while I was also in the room. It's usually just a bite or 2 and then she goes off into the dining room to look outside.

When I was little I had a dog that would sniff out the grocery bag with her food in it and would the guard that bag from everyone in the family except for my mom. My mom was the only one she'd let near that bag. Yet when the food was put away the dog would never care about who was close to it or who feed her. Pets are weird.

I own a 5 year old Beagle/Border COllie/Chinese Crested Mix. He's about 20 pounds, has great temperment, and is very chill. I like the fact he never went through formal training, but listens very well.

I'll get pics later

I always sort of assumed it was my cat saying if he ever gets out of the house that they are toast.

Isn't it considered cruelty to animals to give them lobotomies?
