Karen and I are back on the mic once again after missing last week’s show. Also, vacationing listeners Dan and Erin Wysling pop in for a visit for this week’s episode; they’re pretty quiet, but have no fear, as Adam Fitch — or as we now like to call him, Crazy Uncle Adam — picks up the slack!

The Geekbox: Episode 125

What? How the heck am I not on my own podcast this week!? Well, as it turns out, it’s pretty serious: My awesome dad underwent open-heart surgery today. He pulled through just fine (he’s an altogether healthy guy!), but all the same, I had to bow out this week so I could be with him for his surgery and first night of recovery. Thanks to all the well-wishers on Twitter — you have no idea how much my family and I appreciate it — and good vibes to Karen Chu, who is also out this week due to some doggie-related medical woes. Thanks to my loyal crew for soldiering on without me this week; I’ll be back next time, but for now, enjoy the first (and hopefully only) Ryan Scott-less episode of The Geekbox!
