The Geekbox: Episode 151

Happy 2012! Alas, Justin Haywald bids an absentee farewell to the Geekbox this week, due to his new job. I’m relieved that he landed on his feet so quickly post-GamePro, but we’ll all definitely miss him. But don’t be too sad, as the 2nd 87th Annual Geekbox Awards (AKA the Geekboxies) headline this week’s extra-long episode. So tune in, let us know if you agree for our best and worst picks for 2011, and have a look at Karen Chu’s awesome podcast project, Good Job, Brain! — it’s currently 74% funded on Kickstarter, so please help her get it to 100% if it sounds interesting to you!

Mercy this was agonizing. Adam is terrible at this point. Listening to him stammer endlessly is light torture.

    Sorry gang, but I’m done.

On “worst meme” and “people talking memes” – nothing has changed, it just wasn’t known as memes back when your great grandparents were kids. Working in a grocery store with a lot of old people being the primary customer base, I hear them talk in memes exactly the way kids today do, only their memes are lines from songs, 50’s comedies and advertising tag lines, and exactly like modern memes they aren’t funny or witty without the proper context.

With all the crazy things happening, will it be possible to have a video podcast of the geekbox one day ?

Been a fan since day one. After this last episode which i did not even finish, I am thinking of unsubscribing. Adam’s act is becoming really annoying and he seems aware of it and milking it. Been a good run.
