It’s a Long Way to Tipperary

I’m sure most anyone who would find their way to this site has heard the bad news by now — as of this moment, me and many of my dear colleagues at 1UP.com are out of a job. It’s not all bad, though; my good friends Nick Suttner, Anthony Gallegos, and Philip Kollar have enjoyed some pretty unbelievable success with the first episode of their Rebel FM podcast (as of this writing, it’s the #1 gaming podcast on iTunes, and the #6 podcast period). And the stand-up video crew that brought you the 1UP Show is cooking something up, and it’s sure to be worth everyone’s while.

As for me: You’ll see my name popping up on a couple of sites in a freelance capacity in the near future, and I’m hoping to find a more permanent new home before long. I’m also in the process of hashing out my own podcast, though that’s really gonna depend on whether you guys want it or not. I’ll try to keep you all updated on my goings-on. Leave a comment or hit my Twitter feed if you’d like to give me a shout-out and profess your support (or lack thereof) for a theoretical podcast.

The destruction of the podcasts was devastating -especially to my weekly routine. A replacement to fill the hole that was left would be greatly appreciated.

    hey PoppaSmurf!

Just listened to the 2nd Episode of RebelFm. And they mentioned your site on there. Came straight home from work and jumped on.
Glad to see you’re doing well.

DUDE this podcast is gonna rule! You should tell us where you are contracting so we can read up on your continued work. I listened to every GFW/LAN Party podcast, and this is deffinately gonna fill the void…Thanks Ryan

It’s a mere two hour drive to Tipperary from my house, but I suppose it’s probably a long way for you. Anyway good luck in the future and I’m looking forward to the podcast.
